THE HARDEST DAY
SHORT FILM ABOUT 2024 AUSTRIAN EXTREME TRIATHLON
FOLLOWING DANIEL'S RACE FROM RIVER MUR AT GRAZ TO THE TOP OF DACHSTEIN, SPONSORED BY SONY EUROPE, FBT & DEISL
At 5 am, 22nd of June, 2024, Daniel dipped his toes in the Mur river next to Graz. Less than 14 hours later, he casually ran through the finishline on the top of Dachstein. What's happened in between? That was my job to showcase in a short documentary.
Austrian Extreme Triathlon is one of the hardest challenges enthusiast amateurs and professionals can face in the race calendar. Imagine a full distance Ironman that goes basically uphill only - participants gain almost 6000 meters of elevation on the course.
The difficulty of the track was a huge challenge not just for the sportsmen but for me as well. Running full gas next to Daniel with 2 cameras, a gimbal, several action cameras attached to me was not an easy call, that's why I'm also trained specifically to these scenarios.
Big shout out to the crew who helped me with all the logistics, how to reach different locations with ease, and what would be the best spots to capture Daniel's journey.
Shot with Sony a7rV, Sony a7siii, GoPro Hero 8 & 11, Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch.
